Per Larry Diaz at 5:04pm 11-30-06. This was NOT a company water outage. They found the cause to be a water leak on a customer's irrigation line in their backyard and not in the company's water lines. They guided the customer to the shut off valve on their property so a plumber could be called to make the necessary repairs.

Jaxel Wellsite Update - Monday, June 26th, 2006

Some of the Cochise Water Company customers connected to the Jaxel continued to experience outages -- some long outages -- over the weekend.  ASUA had Empire Well Pump come out and inspect the pump at the Jaxel site.  ADWR records that ASUA reviewed said the pump was a 2 horsepower pump.  When Empire pulled it, it was discovered that the pump was, in fact, a 5 hp pump.  However, the electrical panel had never been upgraded for a 5 hp.  Empire is going to take the new 5 hp pump back and order another pump which will have a 7 hp rating that will pump 40-50 gpm per minute.  ASUA hopes to have the new well pump installed later this week.  To answer some residents' inquiries: ASUA is using funds from the ACC-approved surcharge to pay for the well pump replacement.

Jaxel Wellsite Update - Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

Approximately 50 Cochise Water Company customers connected to the Jaxel well have experienced daily outages due to demand exceeding supply. As a result, ASUA will have a well pump company out on Saturday, June 24th, 2006 to replace the existing 2 HP well pump (with a 20-30 gpm rating) with a 5 HP pump (with a 40-50 gpm rating). This should remedy the current situation. According to ASUA, the existing well pump is not defective, just simply undersized. ASUA will have water haulers bringing in water to the storage tank so that the customers connected to the well are not out of service at any time.
